PPSSPP has achieved that a long time ago for example despite being similar spec hardware (?)Īs an example, some people with lower specs on previous builds of Citra could run Pokemon Moon maybe at 15-20 FPS (the game runs at 30 on the console), while on the other hand people with higher specs could run it at 80-90. It's a ridiculous step towards making the emulator playable by everyone. You can also use the + and the - in the keyboard to increase the Framerate limit. It's only 1 button to switch between framerate locking and unlocking. For people that don't like grinding in such games as Pokemon or Dragon Quest you can speed up those parts. People with higher specs such as myself can run games at even higher speeds. But what that means is that people with lower hardware specs can now enjoy full speed on most games.
The gains are there, if you are gonna play at 5x the speed or not that's up to you.
